Meeting Times

We meet five times a year at 7.oopm on the Third Wednesday in the months of February, April (Installation), June, October and the Second Wednesday of December.

History

Derwent Chapter was Consecrated on the 18th March 1978 by the M.E. Grand Superintendent E. Comp J. MacMurray, M.C. Assisted by the Officers of Provincial Grand Chapter.

Derwent Chapter Founder Members

The 25th Anniversary Convocation was held on  Wednesday 8^th October 2003 when the Chapter was honoured to receive E. Comp Dr Alan Martin Davison the M. E. Grand Superintendent, E. Comp A. B. Thompson PGSwdB Deputy Grand Superintendent and E. Comp G. N. Thompson PGStB Second Provincial Grand Principal, together with Senior Provincial Officers and  Grand Chapter Officers.  E.Comp T. E.Henderson M.E.Z. gave a most interesting lecture entitled “The link between the Chapter and Craft”.

Supreme Grand Chapter Officers

At the Chapter Convocation held the 11th June 2014 the MEZ  EComp J.Blackburn PPGReg welcomed EComp T.E.Henderson PGStB into the Convocation and offered him sincere congratulations on receiving his Supreme Grand Chapter honour at the meeting of Supreme Grand Chapter on the 1^st May 2014. EComp Henderson being the first Supreme Grand Chapter Officer of Derwent R.A.Chapter. EComp Henderson then thanked the MEZ and the Companions for their welcome into the Convocation.

At the Chapter Convocation held on the 21st June 2017 the MEZ EComp G.Carr welcomed EComp Dr P.A.Mundell PGStB into the Convocation and offered him sincere congratulations on receiving his Supreme Grand Chapter honour at the meeting of Supreme Grand Chapter on the 27^th April 2017. EComp  Mundell then thanked the MEZ and the Companions for their welcome into the Convocation.

50 Year Presentation to E. Comp Alan Cox PPGSN 13th February 2013

E.Comp Alan Cox PPGSN was Exalted into Rowlands Gill Royal Arch Chapter No.4694 on the 11^th January 1963 and was the First Principal in 1978, 1995 and 2007 and held continuous membership until the Chapter erasure in 2010.

He was a Founder Member of Derwent Royal Arch Chapter No 4250 and was First Principal in 1982. He received Provincial Grand Chapter Honour PP1stAGSoj and in 1993 was promoted to the rank of PPGSN. He was apponted Chapter Almoner in 1996 an office he served for 5 years. He was honoured by the Derwent Chapter Members with Honarary Membership 0n the 14^th December 2011.

Presentation of E.Comp Alan Cox’s 50 Year Certificate to E.Comp Jack Blackburn PPrGReg MEZ by E.Comp Stephen William Walker, PGStB, The Second Provincial Grand Principal together with E.Comp Ian Charles Knighting ProvDGDC

E.Comp. Stephen William Walker PGStB Second  Provincial Grand Principal had the pleasant duty of presenting a certificate for E.Comp Alan Cox  to mark fifty years service in the Royal Arch on the 11^th January 2013. Unfortunately E.Comp Cox was unable to be present to receive his certificate due to ill health. E.Comp Walker then conveyed congratulations and best wishes from the Provincial Grand Superintendent E.Comp Norman Eric Heaviside and the Officers of Provincial Grand Chapter and gave details of his working career and his excellent Masonic achievements over the years. E.Comp Walker then presented the Certificate to E.Comp J.Blackburn PPGReg “Z” for a home presentation with a group of Derwent Companions. E.Comp Blackburn then informed the Companions that he was extremely honoured to receive the certificate on behalf of E.Comp Cox.

On the 28^th February 2013 a group of Derwent Companions visited the home where E.Comp Alan Cox resides and his 50 Year Certificate was presented to him by E.Comp Jack Blackburn  First Principal who thanked him for his dedication and work over the years.
